GREAT STAGES Baritone vocalist Andrew Garland (above) of Kingston, who has sung at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, performs a benefit concert at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Kingston to raise funds for the church’s 300th anniversary. MEMORIAL DAY The town of Duxbury, among many other communities statewide, holds a Memorial Day parade, stepping off at 10 a.m. from Myles Standish Cemetery on Chestnut Street and marching to First Parish Church, 842 Tremont St. Army Major General Paul Hurley, chief of chaplains, will speak at 11:15 a.m. at the church.

PLANT SWAP Adams Farm in Walpole hosts its annual New England Plant Swap. Participants divide their perennials and houseplants, share their excess seedlings, annuals, tools, garden art, and books, and are welcome to take home plants, tools, and books of equal value to what they bring.
