Since the Republican leadership in the Senate felt it was important in 2016 that a lame-duck president should not have a hearing for his choice for a Supreme Court vacancy, wouldn’t the same logic dictate that no vote on tax legislation be scheduled until Doug Jones, the choice of the voters of Alabama, is sworn in as the junior senator from that state?
