High school football picks

Millis over Latin Academy — After their breakthrough win in the South final, the Mohawks follow the Bryce Latosek-Brian Espanet connection to the 4A Bowl at Worcester State.

Duxbury over Beverly — Why didn’t I heed the words of my Maine man and see the power of the pesky Panthers and their all-for-one mantra? Billerica is one thing. The top-ranked Dragons? Not quite in this D2 semifinal.

Falmouth over Marlborough — The 106-mile trek from Gifford Street to Doyle Field in Leominster for the 2A semifinal will not slow down a Clipper attack humming along at 38.5 points per game.

Hanover over Triton — The Vikings yielded 66 total points the past two weeks and still moved on. Their sail will run aground against a Wyatt Shisler-directed attack and a Michael Nimeskern-inspired D for the unbeaten Indians.

East Bridgewater over Nipmuc — Here, the pick is with a Liam LeVangie-led Viking squad riding an eight-game winning streak and a finishing back in Pat Snow.

Brighton over Mashpee — Mashpee (9-1) put 126 points on the board the past three weeks. Impressive. The Erick Brown/Kevin Brown-fueled Bengals (9-0), however, are at 154. Too much athleticism and size.

Buckingham, Browne & Nichols over Suffield — In quite likely his football finale before taking the hill at Northeastern, Lexington’s Jeff Costello directs BB&N to a 7-2 finish in the Ken O’Keefe Bowl.

Last week: 12-5; Season: 64-27
