If you’re craving a Parisian bistro experience in a shiny revamped space, Aquitaine Boston fits the bill with ease. The newly renovated South End stalwart, now lighter and brighter, offers an updated menu and expanded bar. General manager Emily Ackerman recommends a 2015 rosé, intriguingly named “BiotifulFOX’’ from Rhone producer Domaine de Beaurenard. (“Bio’’ references “organic’’ and the winery moniker translates as “beautiful fox.’’) At $9 a glass, $25 a carafe, and $35 a bottle, the moderate-in-acid pink, says the wine pro, offers “notes of strawberries, light stone fruit, and citrus on the finish.’’ It’s delicious with chef de cuisine Bob Krajewski’s halibut confit (a fillet, slow-poached in olive oil with thyme and coriander seeds) plus vegetables à la grecque. This pairing will inspire memories of dining in your favorite arrondissement.
