The head coach of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team, a seven-time NCAA regional champion, has resigned and will be the associate head coach at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., next year.

A distance runner for UMass Lowell’s cross-country and track teams, he took gold in the 3000- meter steeplechase at the Bay State Games track and field finals July 9 with a time of 10:07.08 minutes.

The 6-2 right-handed hurler for the McKay Club Beacons was named to the Yawkey League’s EMass Challenge roster and will be a senior next year on the UMass Lowell baseball team.
