Recent bird sightings as reported to the Massachusetts Audubon Society:
Incoming migrants this week may include green herons, willets, chimney swifts, barn swallows, marsh wrens, blue-gray gnatcatchers, and brown thrashers.
►Essex: A continuing white-faced ibis was seen last week at Hamlin Reservation.
►Hingham: There were numerous sightings of Louisiana waterthrush at Wompatuck State Park.
►Halifax: Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area hosted several interesting birds, including a sandhill crane and a Caspian tern that stayed for several days.
►Plum Island: Reports from Parker River National Wildlife Refuge included one rose-breasted grosbeak, one eastern meadowlark, and two rusty blackbirds.
Reports indicated that snowy owls have likely departed, but several species of winter waterfowl linger, such as buffleheads, long-tailed ducks, and three species of scoters.
►Nantucket: The warmer weather brought many new arrivals early last week, including wood thrushes, blue grosbeaks, and rose-breasted grosbeaks, which joined more unusual rarities such as tufted ducks and Eurasian wigeons.
