A child’s ZIP code should not decide their chances of success

Re “School aid lags, and poor pay the price’’ (Page A1, March 18): As we see so often, the poor are the ones who suffer when we disinvest in our children. Rather than having a school funding formula that overwhelmingly benefits wealthy communities, we need to properly fund all school systems so that a child’s chances of success are not diminished by where they happen to live. If we won’t spend enough on our children to help them reach their greatest potential, who will?
