Boston police Thursday posted photographs of two men they want to identify as they investigate a fatal shooting last October of a woman who had recently emigrated from Haiti to rejoin her family.

In a posting on bpdnews.com this week, police wrote that the two men “are NOT wanted’’ and that their identities are being sought in connection with the murder of Benine Timothee, a 36-year-old mother struck by errant gunfire in Dorchester on Oct. 29, 2016.

Timothee was walking to work in the 100 block of Washington Street around 2:30 p.m. when the gunfire broke out. A teenager walking in the area was also hit by gunfire, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Officials have said they suspect the teenager was the target, but the teenager’s father told the Globe last year he did not believe that was accurate.

Timothee came to Boston with her two children to be reunited with her husband of 14 years, Andre. The couple’s children were in their early teens, the family told the Globe last year. Andre Timothee told the Globe his wife had been in Boston for just three months before she lost her life.

Anyone with information about the two men is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 or send an anonymous tip to the CrimeStoppers Tip Line by calling 1-800-494-TIPS, or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
