Presidency is a public office, not a dinner party

Why should any Globe reader, or any other American, care that Donald Trump, in private conversation, is sometimes “super charming’’? The presidency is a public office, not a dinner party or golf course tour.

Both Trump’s public persona and his promised public policies are vicious. In the context of this political campaign, they are the only “real’’ Donald Trump. Suggesting otherwise amounts to irresponsible reporting.
