Ruth I. Maslak, 89, of Wadsworth, formerly of Rittman, died April 25, 2017 at Altercare of Wadsworth.

She was born July 20, 1927 in Barberton to the late Edward and Pearl (Weaver) Huth and lived most of her life in Rittman.

Ruth graduated from Barberton High School in the class of 1945 and married John Maslak on Sept. 11, 1948; he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed by the Ohio Edison Company for 30 years and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Rittman.

She was a very social person and loved going on bus trips with the Rittman and Wadsworth Senior Citizens Groups. She enjoyed reading and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State and the Cavaliers.

Surviving is her son, John D. Maslak of Wadsworth; daughter, Nancy (Pete) Lovrak of Rittman; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Celia Maslak of Rittman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and brothers, Kenneth, Russell, Robert and Gerald Huth.
