As a prior donor, I continue to receive regular fund-raising letters from the Democratic National Committee. Each letter spells out the failings of the Trump administration and the GOP-controlled Congress (and there are many). But if the DNC wants another dime from me, it should start with a letter of apology: for its ethically questionable behavior during the 2016 campaign, and for the actions and behavior of “leaders’’ such as Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Donna Brazile, and Hillary Clinton (and her campaign). Maybe then I can consider displaying the “Proud Democrat’’ sticker that came last week with an appeal for funds.

Note to the DNC: The apology letter should not contain another plea for money.
