Griffin Foundation ball raises $1.6m for children in need

Clad in gowns and tuxes, more than 900 attendees dined, danced, and donated at the Boston Winter Ball for the Corey C. Griffin Foundation. Guests at the 12th annual black-tie gala raised $1.6 million for the Framingham-based organization’s health care and education programs for local children. Griffin’s family and friends founded the nonprofit to continue the 27-year-old’s philanthropic work after he died in 2014, days after Griffin raised $100,000 for ALS awareness. On Saturday night, the foundation also honored Suffolk Construction Chairman and CEO John Fish with the 2020 Corey C. Griffin Humanitarian Award. Daunte Pean was feted with the Courage Award, and Will Maich left with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award. DITI KOHLI
