Those Who Can’t TruTV, 10:30 p.m.
The bro-fessors of Reed Smoot High School aren’t so far removed from the female faculty over at Fillmore Elementary (i.e. on TVLand’s “Teachers’’). They’re all equally unfit for their jobs, their friendships are held together in intricate tessellations of personal problems, and they’re all relentlessly funny. This may be because both shows also spring from hungry young independent comedy troupes, “Teachers’’ from Chicago’s Katydids, and “Those Who Can’t’’ from Denver’s Grawlix. As bad educations go, these is good ones.
Baskets FX, 10 p.m.
Zach Galifianakis’s tale of a failed clown struggling to his feet in Bakersfield is one of the most delightfully strange shows on television (and not even because his mother is played by Louie Anderson). Thursday is the season finale, but if you have the time, Chip Baskets’s season-long prat fall is a thing of beauty, and well worth watching from the beginning.
