Openings: Cornish Pasty Company has taken the place of Back Bay’s Boston Indian Kitchen (51 Mass. Ave. at Marlborough Street). The new spot specializes in the pasty, a hand pie traditionally filled with meat and potatoes that originated among English miners and accompanied many as they immigrated to the US. The restaurant will also offer sides, desserts, and plenty of vegetarian options. “Everything is made by hand, made from scratch, and it’s a totally open kitchen as well,’’ said owner Brandon Volkenant.

Closings: The only Massachusetts location of Hillstone (60 State St. at Congress Street), a family-owned chain restaurant at Faneuil Hall featuring upscale American food, has closed as of Oct. 15. “We have reached the end of our lease and will be keeping an eye out for future locations in the Boston area. Thank you to all of our guests for nearly 14 years of terrific support and memories,’’ a note on the restaurant’s website reads.

Menus: Chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette of the South End’s Coppa (253 Shawmut Ave. at Milford Street) will show off their Patriots pride each Sunday by serving up the Gronk Spike and Brady on the Couch, two special takeout options available throughout the NFL season. The former costs $100 and includes three meat-heavy grinders, three wood-fired pizzas, and Caesar salad; at $175, the latter doubles the grinder and pizza quantities. Call 617-391-0902 or e-mail info@coppaboston.com by 3 p.m. on the preceding Saturday to place an order.

Classes: On a mission to become the Ina Garten of your friend group? You’re in luck. Katrina Jazayeri, co-owner of Somerville’s Juliet, will host a party-planning lesson on successful recipes, table settings, and the like Nov. 8 at the Boston Center for Adult Education (122 Arlington St. at Winchester Street). She’s certainly qualified — Juliet was named one of the Best New Restaurants of 2016 by Bon Appétit magazine. SONIA RAO
