White male voters wanted to be wooed? Seriously?

I am dumbfounded by Dan Ladd’s Nov. 21 letter “Ignoring the white male vote was Clinton’s undoing.’’ I am a white male baby boomer who has never had to work too hard to succeed, never had to deal with suspicion or harassment because of my skin color or gender, and who has lived his entire life in a society dominated by people like me. I am not happy with that situation.

I see plenty of evidence that white men have been too quick to take us to war (yes, I wish Hillary Clinton had not accepted the lies of Bush and Cheney), too ready to take financial advantage of others (too late to take a real estate class at Trump University?), too quick to take advantage of women in vulnerable circumstances, and the list goes on and on.

I want women of all colors to assume more leadership roles. We desperately need the perspective, balance, and superior social skills they bring to the governance of our society. As a white male I do not need to be solicited and encouraged. I have had enough of that my entire life.
