Five boys’ lacrosse teams to watch in the upcoming MIAA Tournament (records through Wednesday).
¦ Algonquin (12-3): The T-Hawks clinched the Mid-Wach A by handing rival Westborough its two losses of the season. But they’ll have to go through Longmeadow or Minnechaug to reach the Division 2 Central/West final for the second straight year.
¦ Concord-Carlisle (14-1): The Patriots’ lone loss was a 13-2 blunder against Dual County League rival Lincoln-Sudbury. But C-C could still earn a share of the DCL in the rematch Saturday.
¦ Dover-Sherborn (13-2): As the defending state champion, the Raiders will be the favorite in Division 3 after a neck-and-neck battle with D2 champ Medfield in the Tri-Valley League.
¦ Medfield (12-3): The Warriors eked out out a 15-14 overtime victory over Dover-Sherborn to secure at least a share of the TVL crown. Its only in-state loss? Cohasset on May 12.
¦ Needham (10-5): The Rockets close out the regular season with matches against Newton North, Hingham, and Boston College High. The top seed in Division 1 South last spring, Needham will be a tough out regardless of its seeding.
