What do you get when you cross a fashion designer with an executive chef? A stylish apron, obviously. Irked by overpriced, poorly executed designs, Emily Bell and Jason Creek decided to launch Strapt Aprons. Creek says, “If I can’t afford them, my cooks can’t afford them. Ours are not only affordable, but built to last.’’ Made in Massachusetts from 100 percent cotton, Strapt Aprons are durable without the bulk. There are four styles available in black, navy, and slate, with variously-sized and -placed pockets. Some have side-release buckles that keep the apron secure and eliminate annoying strings. Some have adjustable shoulder straps so you can wear them either cross back or halter style. Appropriate for restaurant kitchens or front of the house, as they say, as well as your own home.
