Just because Jenny Slate and Jon Hamm went to the movies together doesn’t mean they’re dating. Or does it?

The pair (below) was photographed exiting a theater in New York City together, and although they’ve known each other for a while and weren’t even holding hands, the Internet has — predictably — concluded they’re a couple.

You’ll recall that Slate, who grew up in Milton, was in a high-profile relationship with Sudbury superhero Chris Evans for several months, but they called it quits earlier this year. Hamm, the star of “Mad Men’’ and Ben Affleck’s “The Town,’’ is believed to be single after breaking up with his longtime partner, actress/screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt.

One thing to keep in mind: Slate and Evans got together while working together on the movie “Gifted.’’ Well, Slate and Hamm also worked together, on the film “Aardvark,’’ which debuted this spring at the Tribeca Film Festival. Hmm.
