THE CUBA FILES José Mateo Ballet Theatre continues its 30th-anniversary season with three works celebrating Mateo’s Cuban roots and set to the music of Cuban composers. Scheduled for an extended four-weekend run, the progam features a world premiere as well as two pieces from 2004, “Escape’’ and “Arroz con Mango.’’ Feb. 12-March 6, $42. DANCE! DANCE! DANCE! DANCE! This Institute of Contemporary Art presentation aims to highlight the diversity of dance in Boston by showcasing four contemporary troupes representing distinctive styles: Daniel McCusker Dance Projects, Navarasa Dance Theater, Jean Appolon Expressions, and Wendy Jehlen/Lacina Coulibaly. TOROBAKA With bare feet and boots, bells and drums, British kathak dancer Akram Khan and Spanish contemporary flamenco artist Israel Galván join forces for a fusion/face-off that illuminates the similarities and differences in the rhythmic power and complexity of their respective genres. FARRUQUITO He hails from one of the great Gyspy flamenco dynasties, and for this Flamenco Festival 2016 program, presented by World Music/CRASHarts, he performs the Boston premiere of “Improvisao,’’ which celebrates the roots of his flamenco puro aesthetic. COMPAGNIE HERVÉ KOUBI This intriguing company features a dozen French-Algerian and African men, most of whom have backgrounds in hip-hop and street dance. But the choreography mines capoeira, martial arts, ballet, and contemporary dance as well. For the troupe’s Boston debut, the fluidly acrobatic “Ce que le jour doit à la nuit’’ (What the Day Owes the Night) also includes evocative Sufi imagery. March 11-12, $36-$40. ROCÍO MOLINAThis imaginative, powerful young dynamo is on the forefront of modern flamenco, melding the art form with contemporary influences while staying grounded in its rich tradition. COMPANHIA URBANA DE DANÇA World Music/CRASHarts presents the Boston debut of this impressively talented company of young dancers drawn from the impoverished favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
