It doesn’t quite measure up to its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival, but the film adaptation of Roslindale author Annie Weatherwax’s novel “All We Had’’ had a quieter premiere in wine country over the weekend, screening at the Napa Valley Film Festival. Katie Holmes, who stars in and makes her directorial debut with the film, was at the festival Saturday night, proudly showing off her “director’’ badge on Instagram prior to hitting the red carpet.

The film, which tells the story of a troubled single mother and her teenage daughter who — after their car breaks down on the way to Boston — settle down in a small town, won a Jury Award for Best Lounge Feature. “All We Had’’ had its official debut at Tribeca in April (Jane Rosenthal, who produced the film, is the Tribeca Film Festival’s cofounder), and it will hit theaters on Dec. 9. Along with Holmes, the film stars Mark Consuelos, Judy Greer, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Eve Lindley.
