Bird sightings

Recent bird sightings as reported to the Massachusetts Audubon Society:

Rockport: Reports at Andrews Point included a king eider, harlequin ducks, a northern fulmar, two thick-billed murres, five razorbills, and 80 black-legged kittiwakes.

Marblehead: A Townsend’s warbler was spotted at Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

Cambridge: Sightings at Fresh Pond included four canvasbacks, a ruddy duck, and an orange-crowned warbler.

Plum Island: Parker River National Wildlife Refuge sightings included five northern shovelers, a snowy owl, and several lapland longspurs.

Seekonk: A tundra swan was seen with Canada geese.

Miscellaneous: Reports included three snow geese in Middleborough; an eared grebe in Mashpee; three bald eagles at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord, a bald eagle at Chauncy Pond in Westborough; and a merlin in Waltham.
