This should not be a winner-take-all situation

A letter to Red America:

Your wishes came true, and I sincerely hope this will bring the happiness you seek. I’m a blue person, in more ways than one, and reach out to ask for your compassion. This should not be a winner-take-all situation, and we can all win if we seek to find the best solutions for all of us.

Many of the issues we face are not zero-sum games. Can we come together in creative new ways to solve the economic, social, and environmental issues we face? My main concern is climate change and that we deny it at our peril. Acknowledging it doesn’t mean we will lose jobs or hurt communities. If we want America to be great, we must move forward with a new green economy that creates jobs and fights the threat of serious consequences of unbridled global warming, such as droughts, floods, more severe storms, and hurricanes.

Your children and grandchildren will be grateful for your concern.
