Designed in 1910 by an architect with fireproofing in mind— after the first home on this site burned — and renovated from basement to roof by a high-tech executive and his wife, this Colonial Revival overlooking Weld Pond in Precinct One has impressed even Dedham’s assessors, who have rated it “luxurious +.’’

Constructed with reinforced concrete and an exterior of terra-cotta brick, the house now has a wing built in the early 2000s that houses a home movie theater, an art deco-styled family/reception room, a greenhouse, and a four-car heated garage.

Our first stop is the 1910 section, entered through a black door with a porthole window. The front-to-back foyer has an eye-catching floor of Brazilian cherry laid out in a geometric design that pushes the eye toward four sets of French doors offering views of the pond, garden, gazebo, and terrace.

To the right is the living room, which has the original floor-to-ceiling gumwood paneling and details. The flooring is oak, and the wood-burning fireplace boasts a gumwood carving of a fruit basket and a dark marble surround. A chandelier with candle-like lights hangs from a plaster oval medallion. There is a door to the screened porch. Doors that flank the fireplace lead to the library, another genuflection to the beauty of oak: The library has an oak floor, built-in bookshelves of English oak, and a fireplace of carved oak with a marble surround. A door leads to the screened porch, which has a granite floor and overlooks the pond, as well as the gardens and the gunite heated in-ground pool.

To the left of the foyer is a formal dining room with crown molding, a bay window with pond views, mahogany wainscot, and a fireplace with a gray and white marble surround.

The eat-in kitchen is expansive (not surprising in a 12,111-square-foot home) and an exuberant yellow, with extensive white cabinetry, an island, and a reconditioned and updated antique Glenwood six-burner gas stove. The space also offers other high-end appliances, an oak floor, golden sunset granite counters, and a cove ceiling.

From here, a hallway with two-story-tall windows — part of the greenhouse — connects the main home and the wing.

Back in the foyer, a broad stairwell with wrought-iron balusters flows like a cresting wave to the second floor, where a gorgeous sitting room with a marble fireplace has its own deck, providing one of the best pond view.

To the right of the stairwell, the master suite takes up its own private corner of the home. Inside, a hallway leads to a sitting room with a marble fireplace, French doors to a balcony, and dentil and crown molding. The dressing room, found on the left, has quartersawn oak floors, molding, a wood-burning fireplace with a marble surround, and a walk-in closet.

On the right are dual bathrooms. One has pale green and white marble tiles, a clear-glass shower with a rainshower head, a whirlpool tub shaped like an hourglass that’s clad in marble, a single vanity topped with limestone, and a water closet with a bidet. The other bathroom, the smaller of the two, is also clad in marble and has a heated towel rack, a single vanity, and a shower.

The bedroom is a rectangle with two windows overlooking the pond and a green onyx marble fireplace. The suite also offers an office with mahogany walls and floors, a gas fireplace with a brick surround, a cove ceiling, and French doors to a sleeping porch.

Three other bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry room complete the second floor.

The third floor offers three sunny bedrooms jutting off a central hallway, as well as two full baths, one of which is an eye-popping yellow and blue. Desks are built in along the hallway, which ends in a playroom with dormers.

The 14.71-acre lot includes a private beach with a granite dock; a tennis court; a carriage house with a bedroom suite, offices, a kitchen, a lounge, a gym, steam and billiards rooms, three full baths, two half baths, and lockers for the pool; myriad gardens; and a gatehouse with 1.5 baths. The property also has 1,200-amp electrical service and a generator.
