Bruins center David Krejci will not play in the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, according to a Czech television report, which cited confirmation from team general manager Martin Rucinsky. Krejci, who tied for second on the Bruins with 63 points last season, had offseason hip surgery, but has worked out with his Bruins teammates at the team’s new facility, the Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton. The World Cup tournament begins Sept. 17 in Toronto, with national team training opening next week. Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter also will miss the tournament because of a lower-body injury. He will be replaced on Team Canada’s roster by Anaheim Ducks winger Corey Perry. Carter and Perry were teammates on the undefeated Canadian squad that won the gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Vincent Trocheck, 23, of the Florida Panthers replaced Sean Monahan, 21, of the Calgary Flames on Team North America’s roster, a squad comprised of 23-and-under North American players. Monahan was ruled out because of a strained back suffered in preseason training.

Raceway Sunday, Richmond, Dover, and Martinsville. Bowman will finish the year with eight more starts. ‘‘I know how hard Dale has worked and how frustrating this is for him,’’ said car owner Rick Hendrick. ‘‘He wants to be back, and we want him back, but we want it to be for the long haul.’’
