Canada blew a lead before making a comeback in fighting past the United States, 4-3, on Saturday to set up an ice hockey world championship final with Finland in Moscow. Finland rubbed out Russia, 3-1, in the other semifinal for a shot at its first championship in five years. Brendan Gallagher and Bruin Brad Marchand scored to give Canada a 2-0 lead at 18:02 of the first period. The US team surged in the second period to go ahead with three goals in eight minutes from Auston Matthews, David Warsofsky, who played for the Bruins and Boston University, and Tyler Motte. Derick Brassard hit back for Canada to tie the game going into the third period. Ryan Ellis scored the winner early in the third with a slap shot to the top-right corner.

Rodriguez to come off DL
The New York Yankees plan to activate designated hitter Alex Rodriguez from the disabled list Tuesday when the team begins a three-game homestand against Toronto. Rodriguez had been out since May 4 with a strained right hamstring. Rodriguez was batting .194 with five home runs and 12 RBIs . . . New York Mets power-hitting first baseman Lucas Duda was pulled from the lineup on Saturday because of a bad back. Manager Terry Collins said Duda was examined by a doctor and had an MRI. He will have another test this weekend. Collins acknowledged Duda could have a disk problem . . . The Kansas City Royals activated third baseman Mike Moustakas (thumb) off the 15-day disabled list . . . An auction house says it is offering the jersey Bryce Harper wore during his memorable dugout fight with teammate Jonathan Papelbon last season. But Harper says they’ve got the wrong shirt and he still has the jersey in question. The website, Lelands.com, said there were six bids, with a top offer of about $4,800.

Mauresmo explains split
Amelie Mauresmo revealed the reasons for her coaching split with Andy Murray, saying that she felt they had “reached the end’’ of what they could achieve together and the second-ranked Briton was a “complex’’ player to work with. Murray became the first high-profile tennis player to hire a woman as a coach when he took on Mauresmo in June 2014, but they ended their working relationship earlier this month . . . Stan Wawrinka warmed up for his French Open title defense by winning the Geneva Open in Switzerland, beating Marin Cilic, 6-4, 7-6 (11-9), in the final.

Mourad Laachraoui, the brother of one of the Brussels airport suicide bombers, continued to enhance his prospects of representing Belgium in Summer Olympics by winning his third gold medal this year. Laachraoui earned his biggest title yet in the European taekwondo championships in Montreux, Switzerland, when he beat Spain’s Jesus Tortosa Cabrera, 6-3, in the under-54 kilogram final this week. Laachraoui was a younger brother of Najim Laachraoui, who blew himself up in Brussels in March. Laachraoui distanced himself from his brother, saying he'd had no contact with Najim since he left for Syria in 2013.
