As weekend activities shift from swimming in the ocean to biking around the city, consider sponsoring a tree on the Esplanade. A $1,500 donation buys you the distinction of being noted as a benefactor on a plaque that stays put for 10 years. (You’ll also get a photo of your tree and a map so you can find it.) Sponsorship funds support the pruning and maintenance initiatives for the nearly 2,000 trees cared for by the Esplanade Association.
