Netco Coastal Construction is introducing a shoreline protection method used for 20 years in Australia to the United States. Built along a 300-foot stretch of oceanfront for the White Cliffs Community Association in Plymouth, the stacks of 7-ton geosynthetic containers (above) filled with beach-compatible sand dampen, rather than deflect, the erosive force of waves. Given the name ElcoRock, the four-layer, 12-foot-high wall of containers is designed to last 20 to 30 years, withstanding ocean waves, vandalism, and storms, according to Netco.

Quincy College and Eastern Nazarene College have partnered to offer Quincy College associate graduates an opportunity to continue their education in Eastern Nazarene College’s bachelor of arts management program. Students will be accepted into the 30-month program on a rolling basis. Classes will meet once a week for six weeks. The first group of students begins April 4 at Eastern Nazarene College’s Old Colony campus. Another group will begin at Quincy College’s Plymouth campus in the fall.

Emerging Business Partners Inc. has moved one of its three branches from Raynham to Easton. Now a member of the Easton Chamber of Commerce, the firm, established in 1992, offers tax planning, preparation, and bookkeeping services for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. As part of the chamber, the company gains access to community networking and group medical insurance rates, said chamber president Mark Lombardi.

JP Fuji Group has signed a lease with West of Chestnut, a 169-unit luxury apartment complex in downtown Quincy, to open a 5,000-square-foot Japanese fusion restaurant, including private dining suites, a sushi bar, and outdoor space. Operating since 1998, JP Fuji owns nine other restaurants in Quincy, Cambridge, and Somerville. West of Chestnut hopes the restaurant will open this fall.
