Gone to seed, literally
A plant-able pencil sprouts herbs, flowers, fruit, and vegetables

Erasers are overrated. Or so thought a trio of MIT grad students when they were assigned the task of developing an eco-friendly office product. Made from cedar, clay, and graphite, these otherwise ordinary pencils contain a dissolvable capsule with high-quality, non-GMO seeds at one end. When the pencil gets stubby, stick it in a pot of soil, water regularly, and within a few weeks you’ll see it sprout. Varieties include herbs, sunflowers, sweet peas, chilis, strawberries, and more.
