New sounds at Scampo

Italian food, live music, cocktails for two — sounds like the makings of a sultry evening, doesn’t it?

Visit the Liberty Hotel’s acclaimed Scampo on Thursday evenings for a new live music series with bands ranging from Latin to jazz to funk, beginning at 10 p.m. Groove to the Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, specializing in brassy New Orleans jazz, or woo your beloved to the beats of funky Berklee percussionist Patrick Gaulin.

Sip champagne cocktails, shareable punch bowls served in brass pineapples, or Kahlua-and-vodka-spiked milkshakes served with mini bacon doughnuts. (You can drag yourself to the gym in the morning.) Pair them with Scampo’s seasonal pizzas, veal and pork meatballs, arancini, calamari, bruschetta, and Lydia Shire’s signature stuffed dates.

Speaking of dates: This is a cheap one. The music series is free, so you can worry about splurging on food and drinks instead. The shows last until 1 a.m. and take place in the restaurant’s lounge.
