Moona serves Eastern Mediterranean small plates in Inman Square. The Table at Season to Taste serves rustic New American food in cozy North Cambridge digs. Each is one of the hottest restaurants (and toughest tables) in the area right now, and they’re joining forces for an extravagant one-night-only feast on Feb. 22.

The Table chef Carl Dooley (a “Top Chef’’ alum) will host Moona’s Mark McCann for a Mediterranean-inspired, four-course meal designed for sharing. Both chefs will be on hand to chat about dishes tableside.

“The Table at Season to Taste had our holiday party at Moona and loved it. Mark and I began chatting about food and doing a fun collaboration together,’’ Dooley says.

A fortuitous soiree indeed. Start with homemade dips, then proceed to beef tartare and black bass crudo, grilled bass collars and tails with octopus, and roasted lamb legs with lamb sausage. For dessert? Citrus fruits in candied and sorbet form.

Seats are $69 per person with an optional $40 beverage pairing; they’ll take reservations from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Reserve a seat at 617-871-9468. If you bungled Valentine’s Day dinner, perhaps this is your salvation. KARA BASKIN
