Derek Stepan scored twice in the third period to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night.
Derick Brassard scored early and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21 shots as the Rangers improved to 5-0-1 in their last six games.
They also beat the Flyers at home for the 11th time in 12 games.
Brayden Schenn spoiled Lundqvist’s shutout with 9.7 seconds left in the third period with his 16th goal of the season, but the Flyers lost for the fifth time in six games.
Stepan’s first score, at 10:34 of the third, was his 100th career goal. Brassard tied his career high with 19 and matched Mats Zuccarello for the team lead.
Devils 1, Kings 0 — Keith Kinkaid made 25 saves to record his first NHL shutout in leading New Jersey to a shutout win over Los Angeles in Newark.
David Schlemko scored the game’s lone goal, and New Jersey won its third straight. The Devils leapfrogged the idle New York Islanders for third place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Kings, who got 18 saves from Jhonas Enroth, have split the first four outings of their seven-game road trip, their longest of the season.
Blues 2, Lightning 1 — Robby Fabbri and Patrik Berglund scored on breakaways and Brian Elliott stopped 37 shots as visiting St. Louis held on to beat Tampa Bay.
Sabres 4, Avalanche 1 — Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist as part of a three-goal first period, leading host Buffalo past Colorado.
