Publico in South Boston opened its après-ski-themed pop-up bar Friday night. The bar within a bar — open Fridays and Saturdays through March — is decorated with snow, lights, flannel blankets, and projected videos of mountain sports, but the space is covered and warm inside. Guests in winter wear mingled comfortably in hats and boots, but it was all for effect; the room was about 70 degrees.

Friday’s opening party drew revelers such as shoe designer Thom Solo, photographer Natasha Moustache, and Cyc Fitness’s Lydia Ermilio. A highlight of the night was the DIY hot chocolate bar, which featured marshmallows and candy canes.
