A Boston man was arrested and charged with murder in a fatal stabbing near TD Garden Tuesday night, Boston police said Wednesday.
Mark Love, 55, is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Thursday, police said in a statement.
He was arrested by homicide detectives Wednesday in connection with the stabbing that occurred at 10:37 p.m., while Pink was performing a concert at the Garden. Traffic was heavy on the street, and an official familiar with the investigation said the stabbing was not connected to the concert.
According to police, officers assigned to District A-1 responded to a call for a person stabbed in the area of 10 Causeway St., which is across the street from The Harp sports bar, and found a man in his 50s suffering from apparent stab wounds, police said.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Boston police said.
A bouncer at The Harp, who identified himself only as Charoun, told the Globe he was standing outside with his back turned toward the street when he heard arguing nearby.
A short time later, he noticed a man laid out on steps across the street, he said. It was just about the time the Pink concert let out, and crowds were quickly filling the sidewalk.
The victim lay on the sidewalk for about 15 minutes, he said. Police who responded to the scene told him the man had been stabbed, Charoun said.
