The story of the short, tragic life of Bobbi Kristina Brown (inset) is headed to the small screen. And judging from the trailer, the TV movie “Bobbi Kristina,’’ about the late daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, is a tearjerker.

The movie, starring “Stuck in the Middle’’ actress Joy Rovaris, will air Oct. 8 on TV One. “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne’’ actress Demetria McKinney plays Houston, while Hassan Johnson of “The Wire’’ plays Brown, the former New Edition member who grew up in Roxbury.

The only child of Brown and Houston, Bobbi Kristina was just 22 when she died in 2015, several months after she’d been found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in suburban Atlanta. The circumstances were eerily similar to the death of her mother, who, three years before, accidentally drowned in a bathtub in Beverly Hills.

In the trailer, Bobbi Kristina grapples with her mother’s death and family conflicts over her relationship with Nick Gordon, who’s played by Nadji Jeter.

“He’s the single best thing that’s happened to me since my mom,’’ Bobbi Kristina tells her aunt Pat Houston, played by Vivica A. Fox.

Gordon was ultimately found legally responsible for Brown’s death and ordered by a judge in Georgia to pay $36 million to her estate.
