The Informer: Anna’s Taqueria sets up shop in Newton

Locally based Anna’s Taqueria has opened a restaurant in Newton, its first west of Brookline. The popular Mission-style Mexican chain will bring authentic burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more to its new location at 27 Lincoln St. It will also offer salad bowls, a new and exclusive menu addition that sprinkles burrito ingredients on a bed of fresh lettuce. The restaurant, the chain’s seventh, is open every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s available for breakfast in the morning and catering orders. For more information, visit www.annastaqueria.com.

Concord’s Three Stones Gallery is teaming up with Coldwell Banker to host a satellite gallery space in the realty firm’s new Concord office Works from solo artists will be displayed on a rotating basis at 11 Main St. The first exhibition will feature landscape paintings by Jonathan MacAdam (one shown above). The opening reception will be held Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.; the show will run during business hours until June 10.

The Medfield Animal Shelter is hosting its annual rabies vaccination clinic April 9. Pet owners from all towns can get their cats and dogs vaccinated for $10 each. The shelter is also offering to administer identification microchips to pets for $15. Following high demand, Verrill Farm in Concord is once again offering cooking for aspiring chefs in grades 7 and 8. Youths will receive hands-on instruction in culinary skills; each lesson ends with a meal cooked by the youngsters. At the class, held March 18 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., students will be taught how to make crostini with kale pesto, three different pasta recipes, and chocolate salami.
