US mortgage rates

New numbers for the average 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage will be released Thursday. Last week, Freddie Mac reported the average 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage dropped to 3.72 percent from 3.79 percent the week before.

Constant Contact, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Brightcove Inc., LogMeIn Inc., and TripAdviser Inc., are all expected to release earnings reports for the fiscal year that ended in December.

Home buying 101

The city of Boston is having a class for first-time home buyers. Attendees will learn to navigate the home-buying process, from finding a home to getting a mortgage and understanding the legal proceedings. Each Monday in February, 6 to 8 p.m., Winter Chambers, 26 Court St., Boston. $25 for Boston residents, $40 nonresidents.

The Boston Entrepreneurs Network is having an event for startups and businesses on digital marketing strategies. A panel of social media, PR, and content marketing experts will discuss tactics to create a successful digital marketing campaign. Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m., Microsoft Technology Center, One Cambridge Center, Cambridge. Free for members, $10 for nonmembers.

Startup Stir, which holds monthly events for professionals in all industries, is having an event for startups. A suite of speakers, including Bobbie Carlton from Innovation Women and Scott Bailey (right) from MassChallenge Boston, will be present to answer questions.
