Entrepreneurial product designer Kelly Harris Smith wants to redefine art education for some of Boston’s pint-size citizens. Minni, the community creative space she opened in May, offers programs that teach kids ages 18 months to 10 years more than scissor skills and finger painting techniques. For instance, at Dollhouse + Décor, pupils not only created plans for their dream home and crafted tiny furnishings, they visited a local artist studio and furniture showroom. Innovative upcoming classes include Service Shop, taught by a mechanical engineer, and Wearable Art, complete with fashion show finale. Minni, 71 Thayer St., Boston, 857-772-7868, minni.space
