I know that Hampshire College is a “liberal’’ college — whatever that designation means. Their stance on the flag is just plain wrong (“Mass. college removes American flag after flag burning, race concerns,’’ Politics, Nov. 21). Not the burning, but the flying of it at half staff and their refusal to fly it at all. It really shows a disrespect for our country. I just hope they realize that the United States is one of the few countries that recognize their right to take that action without reprisals. I consider myself a liberal — whatever that means — and am just as unhappy with the results of the election, but I don’t agree with their actions.
