With honey-colored wood floors, rosy tiered tables, and white bookshelves stocked with classics, the South End’s newest children’s boutique CouCou (pronounced “koo-koo’’) has a vibe that mixes European whimsy with Etsy bohemian. The clothing, toys, homewares, and gifts are inspired by treats that owner Astrid Motsenigos would bring back from her travels for her daughter; items rarely seen in the States. Reveling in introducing new lines to Boston, Motsenigos carries stock that includes hippie-chick dresses by Louise Misha, a cactus-print camp shirt for boys by Motoreta, handmade animal face dresses by Little Goodall, and colorful plates and cups by Rice. “Bunny Love’’ dress by Little Goodall, $120 at CouCou, 24 Union Park St., 617-936-4082.
