hotel to rise over haymarket

Boston Globe File 1924

One of the most historic corners of Boston is in for big changes, after Boston officials approved a five-story hotel on Thursday for the Haymarket area, where pushcart vendors have sold produce for decades. The hotel would sit on a narrow lot now used for parking. Its developers are promising to fix up a section along Blackstone Street for the produce vendors, and a new covered facility for storage, trash, and even restrooms.
