Boston College women had their 51-game undefeated streak in Hockey East play snapped when host Maine scored the winning goal with 37 seconds left to take a 3-2 win over the fifth-ranked Eagles.
The streak dated back to February 2014. BC ‘s 27-game winning streak in league play dating back to October 2015 was also stopped.
The Eagles (3-2-1, 3-1-0 Hockey East) took a 1-0 lead early in the second period on Caitrin Lonergan’s power-play goal, but saw Maine (2-6-0, 1-3-1) tie it up midway through the stanza.
The teams were knotted, 1-1, to start the third period, but the Black Bears took their first lead 4:03 into the period.
Toni Ann Miano tied it with 5:19 left to play, but seven seconds after the Eagles came off their third successful penalty kill, Maine scored to claim the win.
Boston University 7, Penn State 2 — Mary Parker collected her second career hat trick as part of a five-point afternoon to help the visiting Terriers (3-1-1) rout the Nittany Lions (1-4-1).
Northeastern 1, Syracuse 0 — Brittany Bugalski made 27 stops and Heather Mottau netted a power play goal to help the host Huskies (3-2-1) shut out the Orange (0-3-1).
UNH 6, Merrimack 2 — Jonna Curtis scored a career-high four goals and Hilary Cashin made 21 saves for her first career victory as the host Wildcats (1-5-1) dominated the Warriors (2-4-0).
UConn 4, Rensselaer 1 — Two first-period goals from junior Leah Lum lifted the Huskies (3-2-0) past the Engineers (2-5-1) in Troy, N.Y.
Vermont 2, Robert Morris 2 — Taylor Willard scored with 4:45 remaining in regulation as the Catamounts (2-1-0) battled to a tie with the Colonials (4-0-1) in Pittsburgh.

Northeastern 7, Bentley 3 — Senior forward Zach Aston-Reese had two goals and two assists to help the No. 16 Huskies (1-1-2) topple the Falcons (1-1-1) at Matthews Arena.
Denver 3, BU 1 — Freshman forward Kieffer Bellows scored for the second-ranked Terriers (1-2-0), but the host Pioneers (2-2-0) still prevailed.
UMass-Lowell 4, Colorado College 0 — Junior C. J. Smith scored two goals and freshman Tyler Wall made 29 saves as the eighth-ranked River Hawks (2-0-2) finished off a weekend sweep of the host Tigers (1-3-0).
UNH 5, Clarkson 3 — Forward Tyler Kelleher scored with 1:39 remaining in the third period and added an empty-netter to lift the visiting Wildcats (1-2-1) to a come-from-behind win against the Golden Knights (2-2-0).
Quinnipiac 3, Maine 2 — Senior forward Blaine Byron and junior forward Nolan Vesey scored goals but the host Black Bears (3-1-0) were topped by the third-ranked Bobcats (2-1-1) in OT.
UConn 1, RIT 1 — Junior forward Kasperi Ojantakanen scored a goal and freshman goaltender Adam Huska made 36 saves to help the Huskies (2-0-2) tie in Rochester, N.Y.
Holy Cross 2, Providence 1 — Erik Foley’s third-period goal gave the No. 11 Friars (1-2-0) the lead but a late strike in regulation and an overtime winner by Johnny Coughlin gave the host Crusaders (2-0-1) the upset.
St. Lawrence 4, Merrimack 1 — Senior forward Hampus Gustafsson scored a late goal but it wasn’t enough as the No. 15 Saints (3-1-0) held off the Warriors (0-3-0) in Canton, N.Y.
