
Variety reports that Will Poulter (at right), Ben O’Toole, and Jack Reynor have joined the cast of the movie that’s currently being filmed in Dorchester. The yet-to-be-titled film about the 1967 Detroit riots is based on a screenplay by Mark Boal and is being directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The ensemble cast also includes “Star Wars: The Force Awakens’’ actor John Boyega. Poulter, best known for his roles in “We’re the Millers’’ and “The Maze Runner,’’ recently appeared in Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Revenant.’’ Reynor appeared in “Transformers: Age of Extinction’’ and he’s in the upcoming film “Free Fire,’’ a gangster movie that’s set in Boston in 1978 (it stars Oscar winner Brie Larson and Martin Scorsese is an executive producer). O’Toole most recently appeared in “The Water Diviner’’ with Russell Crowe. Bigelow’s film about 1967 Detroit is slated to be released next year, which will mark the 50th anniversary of the riots.
