In case you’ve been cowering next to an air conditioner for the past few days, here’s a newsflash: Summer has arrived, and it’s steamy outside. Lucky, then, that the Boston Harbor Hotel unveils a waterfront summer entertainment series, kicking off this month after the sun goes down.

Groove to live music Tuesday through Thursday. Each night has a different theme: Tuesdays are pop and soul, Wednesdays feature music from the Rat Pack era, and Thursdays mean bluesy tunes. Bands take the outdoor stage at 6 p.m.

On Movies by Moonlight Fridays, take in classic flicks like “Ghostbusters,’’ “Moonstruck,’’ and “Casablanca.’’ The shows begin at dusk. Bring a blanket (and maybe a fan), and enjoy. No reservations needed.
