Coming soon: The team from Dave’s Fresh Pasta in Somerville (81 Holland St. at Irving Street) will open a casual 60-seat Medford restaurant, Semolina (572 Boston Ave. at St. Clements Road), in late spring, says proprietor Dave Jick. Enjoy baked goods in the morning and pizzas and pastas later in the day, also available to go. The restaurant will have a liquor license and, as such, a full bar. Jick will run it with Dave’s general manager, Christina Theophanis. “It’s called Semolina because we’ll be doing our own baking in the morning, and we’ll use semolina in our pizza crust. Between the baking and the pasta and the pizza, it conjures up an image,’’ Jick says.

Menus: South End French restaurant and wine bar Frenchie (560 Tremont St. at Waltham Street) now serves weekend brunch and lunch. Dip into duck confit hash and Nutella crepes at brunch, and tartines or tartares for dejeuner. The bistro is run by Sandrine Rossi and Loic Le Garrec, who hail from Petit Robert Bistro.

Somerville’s Juliet (257 Washington St. at Union Square) now serves an Italian Sunday supper, theatrically dubbed “Romeo’s at Juliet.’’ Their bounty is as boundless as the sea: Sup on antipasti, small plates like garlic knots, Roman egg drop soup, bowls of pasta, and wines by the carafe, perhaps with your own star-crossed lover. Dinner starts at 4 p.m.

Expansions: Recent snow notwithstanding, downtown’s Serafina (10 High St. at Federal Street) will open a 74-seat garden in the coming weeks, featuring communal Italian dining at picnic-style tables, al fresco cocktails, and (hopefully) space heaters.
