A cabdriver was treated for injuries to his pelvis after he was crushed by a car in a Hyde Park auto body shop Thursday afternoon, Boston police said.

Jean Thermora, 55, was getting some work done on his cab at C & V Automotive on Hyde Park Avenue when, shortly before 1 p.m., a worker backed a car into the shop and struck him, police said.

Thermora suffered a crushed pelvis. He was stabilized at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment, officials said.

He is in stable condition and his injuries are not life-threatening, a Boston police spokeswoman said Friday. Officials from Boston Inspectional Services Department and the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigated.

There have been four violations filed against the auto shop: two for failing to obtain proper permits, one for having a failing rear wall, and the last because of flood-level water and sewage in the basement, according to the Inspectional Services Department.

Officials met with the property owner Friday to discuss how to correct these violations, said Inspectional Services.

A message left for C & V Automotive was not immediately returned.
