‘Einstein: An Illustrated Biography’

As a boy, German-born scientific genius Albert Einstein felt misunderstood by his parents and teachers. Yet he maintained his sense of humor and his drive to understand the world around him. In the new graphic novel “Einstein: An Illustrated Biography’’ (Nobrow), author Corinne Maier and illustrator Anne Simon tell a fast-paced story that at one point has Einstein skateboarding around the sign for infinity as part of a lesson on his theory of general relativity. “Einstein,’’ translated from the French by Etienne Gilfillan and Arran Brown, is Maier and Simon’s third graphic novel biography, after their “Freud’’ and “Marx.’’ With verve, the pair manage to educate and entertain.
