Larry Lee Hetsler, 72, of Lodi, passed away Dec. 25, 2016 at HMC Hospice of Medina County.

He was born May 2, 1944 in Lodi to Lawrence and Lillian (Faulkner) Hetsler.

Larry graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1962. He entered the U.S. Army in 1965, serving in Vietnam before being discharged in 1967.

He married Shirley Zsarnay on Feb. 17, 1968.

He began working at Automatic Electric in Cleveland and later became a Switchman for General Telephone. He retired from GTE - Verizon in 1996 after over 20 years of service.

Larry was a member of the AMVETS in Polk, Lodi American Legion Post and the Medina Eagles. He was an avid bicyclist and outdoorsman.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley; children, Linda (Richard) Hinton of Creston, Leigh Ann Hetsler of Stow and Brian (Shawnda) Hetsler of Medina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Diann Blough of Lodi, Margaret (Thomas) Huber of Freeport, Ill. and Vicki (Henry) Dagit of Raleigh, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
