All about apps

Come out to the 2016 Boston App Expo & App Festival for a day of exhibitions, panels, and workshops focused around app development. Presenters will have five minutes to explain the stories behind their apps, what inspired them, and why people should use them. Medtech innovation

The HealthTech Venture Network is having its third annual medical technology innovation conference. The event features expert speakers who will share the latest in their fields, and startups will present their health-tech business ideas in the ELEVATE pitch competition. Breakfast will be served before the speakers, and the dress is business casual. Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Westin Boston Waterfront, 425 Summer St., Boston. $100.

CONFERENCE

The age of AI

The New England Chinese Information and Networking Association, or NECINA, is hosting a tech conference on artifical intelligence and machine learning. Industry leaders will give talks on how AI applies to the real world and how companies can use it. The event features a workshop, panel, and networking. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., MIT Building 26-100, 50 Vassar St., Cambridge. Free for members and students, $15 to $20 for nonmembers.

WORKSHOP

From squeak to speak

Learn how to get over stage fright and talk comfortably in front of other people in this public speaking workshop. Attendees will learn how to be more confident, speak with impact, and feel more at ease during presentations and group settings.
