Hold the green eggs and ham
In an otherwise reasonable editorial (“If Dr. Seuss can’t pass the purity test, who can?,’’ Oct. 10), the Globe editorial board describes as a “reasonable response’’ the decision by the Springfield museum honoring the career of Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) to remove a mural depicting a racial stereotype of a Chinese man, noting: “Without context, the mural’s imagery was offensive.’’ If “context’’ can’t be found in a museum dedicated to the life and works of Mr. Geisel, exactly where can it be found?
