Openings: The team behind popular pop-up Whisk plans to open Brassica Kitchen + Café on June 1 across from the Forest Hills MBTA stop (3710 Washington St. at Tower Street). Co-owners Jeremy Kean and Phil Kruta will serve French-American comfort food and pastries. Pastry chef Arthur Haynes has worked at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and Daniel Boulud’s Daniel; Drink expat Thea Price-Eckles will oversee the cocktail menu. For dinner, enjoy six-course tastings; also look for brunch and an ice cream machine.

Chef Matthew Gaudet of Kendall Square’s late, lamented West Bridge will resurface on the North Shore next month with SuperfineFood, a 40-seat counter-service spot in Manchester-by-the-Sea (25 Union St. at Beach Street). Get beach-ready with pizza, ribs, salads, and craft beer. “We’re all about casual and family-friendly, and we’re not your average pizza place,’’ Gaudet says.

Menus: The Greenway’s Nebo (520 Atlantic Ave. at Congress Street) now has a takeout menu. Grab zucchini lasagna, several varieties of pizza, meatballs and marinara, and salumi or antipasti boards for an office feast anytime after 2 p.m.

Food and Fashion: Michael Schlow’s Doretta Taverna (79 Park Place) will host a brunch-slash-fashion show on its patio every Sunday through June 19, featuring styles from Daniela Corte and Gretta Luxe, sound-tracked by a live DJ, with dishes like cinnamon French toast and feta pie. “Santorini Sundays’’ start at noon.

Events: Tickets ($50) are on sale now for Taste of Somerville, an annual feast featuring most of the city’s top restaurants, happening June 8. Sample wares from Bergamot, Bronwyn, Casa B, Oath Pizza, Redbones, Sugidama, Tasting Counter, Union Square Donuts, and more. Tickets benefit the Somerville Community Agency Network, a group of 11 Somerville nonprofits. VIP tickets ($75) include tableside service and cocktails from spots like Backbar and Journeyman. The party starts at 5:30 p.m. in Davis Square. KARA BASKIN
